Planetary boundaries and complex risks: Interdisciplinary perspectives

The first edition of this series of conferences was held at the ULB on Tuesday 2 December 2025. It brought together researchers from various universities with over a hundred attendees.

Following an introduction by Luc Bas (Director of CERAC) and Pierre Coheur (Vice-Rector at ULB), discussions continued throughout the day, with a final summary led by PhD students to draw connections between the various panels.

Beyond the presentations, the day was above all an opportunity for networking and discussion, facilitated by the diversity of the participants, ranging from academia, public administration and civil society, and by exchanges that transcended language barriers.
