On 25 October, the National Crisis Center (NCCN) organized an Experts' Day in Brussels to present the updated Belgian National Risk Assessment (BNRA). The event brought together more than 120 experts from 140 organizations, whose common objective during the analysis phase was to identify and assess the threats facing Belgium, be they environmental, health-related, societal, or technological.

This triennial update has classified 118 risks according to their probability and impact, divided into three intensity scenarios. Climate change, pandemics, cybersecurity, and the resilience of critical infrastructures are examples of the main concerns, with cascading impacts also being particularly important. Of the 29 key risks identified among the 118, disinformation campaigns, air transport breakdown and infectious diseases are among the main threats to Belgium.

The NCCN and Cerac work closely together on these issues and play an important role in preparing society for tomorrow's risks. The goal of this awareness-raising initiative is to strengthen our collective resilience in the face of future challenges.
